Summary

Worn carpet can make even a well-kept room look tired. For this project, we helped Susan and Mike M. update 555 square feet of their home by replacing old carpet with a fresh laminate floor. The goal was to create a cleaner look that stands up to daily use.

The Work

Relocated light furniture to prepare each room
Removed and disposed of existing non-adhered carpet
Scraped, swept, and inspected the subfloor for smoothness
Installed laminate planks with an underlayment for comfort
Added new trim and secured it with 3/8” screws for a finished edge

The Outcome

The rooms now feel brighter and more open. The natural wood tones of the laminate add warmth and make cleaning much easier. This change brought a modern feel that fits the home’s style and is ready for years of activity.
